Folio does not collect any personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, and no registration. We do not operate any servers, and no information is transmitted to us.

All of your business data — your business profile, clients, invoices, estimates, payments, and reports — is stored locally on your device and optionally synced via Apple's iCloud (CloudKit/SwiftData) under your own Apple ID. We have zero access to your iCloud data. iCloud data is governed by Apple's privacy policy and your iCloud terms of service.

Folio syncs your data between your devices through iCloud Sync. Your clients, invoices, and business profile sync across your Apple devices through your personal iCloud account. This data is managed entirely by Apple. No data passes through any third-party server, and we cannot read it.

Folio itself does not process payments and sells nothing inside the App. You may optionally connect your own merchant account with Stripe, PayPal, or Square by entering your own API credentials in Settings. This is entirely optional; without it, no payment features appear and the App remains fully functional for invoicing, estimates, and PDF export.

When you choose to send an invoice through a connected provider, the App communicates directly from your device to that provider using your credentials. The information sent is limited to what is needed to create the invoice on your merchant account: your client's name, company, and email address, the invoice line items, amounts, currency, and due date. This data goes to your own account at that provider and is governed by that provider's privacy policy and your agreement with them:

We never see, receive, or store any of this information. We are not a party to any payment between you and your clients.

API keys and access tokens you enter for Stripe, PayPal, or Square are stored only in the secure Keychain on the device where you entered them. They are marked "this device only" and are not synced to iCloud, backed up off-device, or transmitted anywhere other than to the provider you connected. You can remove them at any time from Settings.

When you email or share an invoice, estimate, or report, the App hands the PDF to Apple's Mail composer or the system share sheet on your device. The message is sent from your own email account through the app you choose. We do not relay, copy, or store any of these messages or attachments.

If you enable payment reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device. These are created and delivered entirely on-device. We do not send push notifications and do not operate a notification server.

Folio uses zero third-party SDKs, analytics, advertising, or tracking services. All functionality is built exclusively on Apple technologies. The only non-Apple connections the App ever makes are the payment provider connections described above, and only when you have deliberately set them up.

Your data is stored in two places, on your device and in your personal iCloud account. We do not operate any servers or databases. Here is how your data is handled:

• On your device: Data is stored locally for as long as you keep it. You can edit or delete individual clients, invoices, and estimates at any time, and deleting the App removes all local data.
• In iCloud: Data is retained per your iCloud settings and Apple's policies. You can turn off iCloud Sync for the App in your device's iCloud settings.
• At your payment provider: Invoices you chose to send through Stripe, PayPal, or Square live in your merchant account there and are retained per that provider's policies. You manage them from that provider's dashboard.
• On our servers: We do not operate any servers. No data is stored by us.

iCloud data is protected by Apple's built-in encryption. Provider credentials are protected by the device Keychain. Connections to payment providers use HTTPS. Since we do not collect or store any data, there is no data on our end to be compromised.

Folio is a business tool and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children; as described above, we do not collect any information from anyone.

This Privacy Policy is effective as of 8/22/2026 and will remain in effect except with respect to any changes in its provisions in the future, which will be in effect immediately after being posted on this page.

We reserve the right to update or change our Privacy Policy at any time and you should check this Privacy Policy periodically. Your continued use of the App after we post any modifications to the Privacy Policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the modified Privacy Policy.

If we make any material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you either through the App or by placing a prominent notice on our website.
